don’t take my word for it…
a long beautiful and heartfelt comment from my friend nina (who knows a little something about writing for kids/teenagers) about why you should go see the perks of being a wallflower…
I was lucky enough to see a screening thanks to Shana. Here’s where I admit that I hadn’t read the book. I OWN it, but I haven’t read it. I’ll explain why in a later post when I talk about the movie. I haven’t wanted to write about until everyone has had the chance to see it, but I’ll say this.
There are some movies that render you speechless, and there are some movies that have you sitting in the darkened theatre with tears streaming down your face as you don’t remember how it felt to be 15 - you actually feel 15 years old again. And when the lights come up and you’re fumbling for a tissue to take care of the eyeliner that is smeared all over your face which makes you laugh more which makes you cry more because you think:
I’m here. I made it.
Go see this movie.
