This was one piece I had a hand in from the start—I remember sitting in the publicist’s office in Sunset Junction as she blasted “There’s No Secrets This Year” and then “The Royal We.”

My ears melted. My brain blew out the window into a sunny spring day. This is a band made up of people my age, who live in my neighborhood, who make a rock record inspired by horror movies. And they already know how to use the internet, which made (for a change) my job easier and more exciting.
